Recognized as a trailblazer among entrepreneurs in the international community, best-selling author and Forbes Coach Tamiko L. Cuellar has proven to be a force to be reckoned with and is on a mission to share her journey and help women realize their purpose around the globe.
The renowned business coach kicked off the first ever ‘Own Your Brilliance’ master class tour in South Africa to celebrate women’s month and hopes to equip aspiring and emerging entrepreneurs with strategies on how to pursue their purpose and monetize it.
The tour empowers female entrepreneurs, business leaders and high performing women to take ownership and control of their purpose and use it to enter the marketplace.
The tour based on Tamiko Cuellar’s third book, ‘Own Your Brilliance! A woman’s guide to hiring herself’, guides female entrepreneurs and leaders through their journey of creating their own jobs based on their brilliance.
Speaking at the master class Tamiko says business owners, and entrepreneurs should tap into their own brilliance to uncover their divine purpose so they can hire themselves. “A lot of the time people do work that they have to do rather than what they want to do and as long as you are working for someone else they own your brilliance for at least 8 hours a day.”, she said.
She also shared her own personal journey of transitioning to entrepreneurship from corporate and the struggles she encountered on her journey to owning her brilliance. Tamiko unpacked how entrepreneurs can build their businesses and use opportunities as leverage to position themselves for their next move.
As an entrepreneur who believes in women empowerment and leadership development for women, Tamiko quotes former U.S first lady Michelle Obama, “No country can ever truly flourish if it stifles the potential of its women and deprives itself of the contributions of half its citizen”. This statement underlines the greatness and power that women possess and can offer to the world.
The master class jointly collaborated with the UNISA School of business leadership (SBL) and the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) regional leadership center – a training program for young African leaders.
“We saw this as an opportunity to empower our young women that are in the program and within the various communities surrounding SBL and Midrand.” said Peter Folkard, from YALI South Africa.
Tamiko has solidified herself in the business and the entrepreneurial space as a pioneer earning herself personal and professional success over the years. With 12 years’ experience in entrepreneurship coupled with a list of accolades that include a nomination for business influencer award in 2013, international business strategist and member of the national association of professional women (NAPW).
Tamiko hopes to inspire more female entrepreneurs to follow in her steps to own their brilliance and take their businesses to the next level.
Her message to South Africa women is, “You are more than a person who should be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. Your brilliance is needed in this world, in this society. We are waiting for you to step into your brilliance so you can impact South Africa.”
