You can’t create great followers under bad leadership, it is of great importance that leaders cultivate a culture of great leadership. There are many qualities one can look at, but these are the 3 that simply worked for me.
Listening skills are of great importance to communication. Hearing and listening are two complete different things. Hearing being part of our 5 senses and listening a skill. Without listening effectively, people often misunderstand each other. Leaders who listen to their people are more likely to succeed.
Remember, before a cub leads its pride, it needs to grow into a lion. Just like a cub one needs to foster they’re growth. A leader with a growth mindset leads with a desire to learn and therefore tends to embrace challenges, persist despite obstacles that come forth, sees effort as one step away from achieving a goal, learns from criticism and embraces his/her failures and is inspired by the success and growth of others.
3. Learn to fail
Failing at your first attempt to try is sometimes inevitable, but not learning from it is an excuse. Failure has always been part of every man’s success. If you fail 56 times, plan to take another risk and be prepared to fail and learn again. Failure is your greatest opportunity to life’s given success. Embrace it, master it and get up with results.
Remember to never be satisfied, life would become useless without ongoing improvement. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t appreciate what you have achieved or how you have changed. This means that you should be thankful for everything you have achieved, but still try to do a little more each an everyday – keep moving forward!
